Appellate Mediation.
There are significant differences between mediating cases pretrial and on appeal. Many of the risks affecting a case’s value in the trial court have been adjudicated by the time of an appeal, yet there are new risks that a Certified Appellate Specialist can help evaluate.
Ari Stiller is a member of the appellate mediation panel of the Second District Court of Appeal in Los Angeles and the Sixth District Court of Appeal in San Jose. He completed an intensive appellate mediation training program with Dana Curtis, a nationally recognized trainer who literally wrote the book on appellate mediation (see Curtis et al., Appellate Mediation: A Guidebook for Attorneys and Mediators). Ari has been involved in dozens of mediations at the trial court level and has taught continuing education courses on effective mediation strategies.
Ari is one of very few Certified Appellate Specialists who also has significant mediation experience. His background on both the defense and plaintiff side helps him approach mediation neutrally and understand each side’s interests.
